Moving bus catches fire in Bogura

A passenger bus caught fire while in motion in Shajahanpur upazila of Bogura on Sunday morning. 

All passengers were able to evacuate safely, and no injuries were reported.

According to fire service and police officials, a bus belonging to “Kurigram Travels” traveling from Chattogram to Kurigram suddenly caught fire while passing through C Block area along the highway around 8:00am. 

On information, firefighters from Shajahanpur Fire Service rushed to the scene and brought the blaze under control after nearly half an hour of effort, said the fire service station officer Ariful Islam.

The fire may have originated from the vehicle’s battery, he suspected.

Confirming the matter, Shajahanpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Ashique Iqbal said that passengers managed to exit the bus immediately after the fire broke out, preventing any casualties. 

A portion of the vehicle was damaged in the incident, he added.
