3kg gold seized from dustbin at Shahjalal airport
Customs officials seized 10 gold bars weighing around 3kg from a garbage can at a toilet of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Monday morning.
The gold bars covered with black scotch tape. The market price of the gold is believed to be Tk 1.5 crore.
According to source, customs officials, on tipped off, took positions at different places in the airport since 5am. The bearer might have thrown the gold bars in the garbage can sensing the active presence of customs officials.
