Tongi factory fire: death toll rises to 38
Another two bodies of the victims have been recovered from the fire-ravaged Tampaco Foils Factory Ltd at Tongi BSCIC Industrial Estate on the outskirts of capital Dhaka, raising the death toll to 38.
Akhterzumman Liton, Assistant Director of Gazipur Fire Station, confirmed the matter to Jagonews24.com.
The packaging factory collapsed after a devastating fire originated inside the building on September 10.
Titas Gas recently probed the incident and found evidence of gas use beyond the approved limit at the Tampaco foils factory.
