3 BNP affiliates submit memo to Indian High Commission

Three affiliate organizations of the BNP—Jatiyatabadi Juba Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal, and Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal—submitted a memorandum to the Indian High Commission in Dhaka on Sunday, protesting the attack on Bangladesh's Assistant High Commission in Agartala, the desecration of the Bangladeshi national flag, and alleged conspiracies to incite communal violence.

A six-member delegation, including leaders from the three organizations, handed the memorandum to Narpat Singh, the High Commission's Security Officer and Counselor, at around 1:00 pm. Brigadier General Manmeet Singh Sabharwal, the Defense Attaché, was also present.

Earlier at 11:30 am, the organizations initiated a march from the BNP central office in Naya Paltan towards the High Commission. The procession, inaugurated by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, was stopped by police at Rampura Bridge. Subsequently, six leaders proceeded to deliver the memorandum.

Juba Dal President Abdul Monayem Munna stated, “We do not believe in unrest. The Muslims of Bangladesh are peaceful and patient. We have no masters, only friends. We do not believe in aggression.”

General Secretary Nurul Islam Nayan added, “We will stand united against any conspiracy against Bangladesh.”
