RSC activists begin fast-unto-death demanding ban on AL

Leaders and activists of the Revolutionary Students Council (RSC) have embarked on a hunger strike at Dhaka University, demanding the permanent ban of the fascist Awami League, which fell from power following the mass uprising on August 5.
The protest commenced at the foot of the Raju statue on Saturday afternoon, symbolizing their resolve to hold accountable those responsible for past atrocities.
Since Thursday, two Dhaka University students—Md Omar Faruk and Md Abu Sayeed—had already initiated a fast-unto-death campaign to demand justice and a ban on the Awami League.
Omar Faruk, co-organising secretary of the Dhaka University branch of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, and Abu Sayeed, an activist, stood steadfast in their call for accountability.
On Saturday, RSC leaders and members joined the duo to express solidarity, given their shared demand for banning the Awami League. Without hesitation, the RSC announced their decision to participate in the hunger strike alongside Omar Faruk and Abu Sayeed.
RSC Convener Abdul Wahed, Member Secretary Fazlur Rahman, Joint Convener Yamin Sarkar, Assistant Member Secretaries Ashraful Islam and Ariful Islam are participating in the programme.
Senior leaders of the National Revolutionary Council including its political head Md Anisur Rahman, Joint Convener Syed Qutub, and Assistant Member Secretary Ghalib Ihsan visited the protesters at the base of Raju memorial monument at Dhaka University.
