Jamaat issues rally guidelines for activists

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is set to hold a national rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on Saturday afternoon. In this regard, the party has issued several directives for its leaders and activists.

The instructions were shared in a press release signed by Jamaat’s Secretary General and Convener of the National Rally Implementation Committee, Mia Golam Porwar, on Friday (July 17).

Key directives include:

1. All participants must try to arrive at Suhrawardy Udyan and completely fill the ground.

2. No one should leave their position before the speech of the Jamaat Amir concludes.

3. Attendees must remain seated in their respective positions even if it rains.

4. Only the national flag may be displayed—no other flags are permitted.

5. While arriving in processions, no slogans should be chanted against any active political party or individual.

6. Elderly individuals and children (if present) should be given priority during travel and at the venue.

7. Fifteen medical booths and an adequate number of doctors will be stationed around Suhrawardy Udyan. Anyone feeling unwell can seek assistance from the nearest booth.

8. Designated volunteers in uniform will be present at reception centers and the rally venue. Attendees must follow their instructions to maintain discipline.

9. If possible, everyone should bring sufficient drinking water with them.

10. After the programme ends, all attendees should leave the venue promptly.

Vehicle-related instructions include:

1. Each vehicle must display a sticker with the following details: region name, drop-off point, parking location, driver’s name and contact number, and the name and contact number of the vehicle’s responsible person.

2. Vehicles from each branch should try to arrive and depart together.

3. No vehicles are allowed to use Dhaka’s flyovers.

4. Vehicles must drop off participants at designated points and park only in the assigned parking areas.

5. All vehicles should aim to reach their designated drop-off points in Dhaka by 10:00 am.

6. If a vehicle cannot reach its designated drop-off point, it must remain at a nearby convenient location, and participants should be instructed to return to the same spot after the programme.

7. Vehicles should be kept in their designated parking areas as much as possible.

8. Vehicles must be parked in a single line, allowing enough space for others to enter and exit.

9. Traffic personnel and volunteers at drop-off and parking points must be obeyed.

10. Ten reception centers will be set up at the following locations: Sayedabad, Postogola, Kadamtali, Matuail, Kamalapur Railway Station, Gabtoli, Mohakhali, Manik Mia Avenue, Uttara Azampur, and Sadarghat. Assistance can be sought from these centers if needed.
