NCP leaders meet US Chargé d’Affaires

A delegation from the National Citizen Party (NCP) paid a courtesy visit to US Chargé d’Affaires Tracy Ann Jacobson at her official residence in Dhaka on Monday, August 11.

The meeting was confirmed by Mushfiqur Us Salehin, the party’s Joint Member Secretary (Media), in a statement.

Representing the NCP were Convener Nahid Islam, Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain, Senior Joint Member Secretary Dr Tasneem Zara, and Joint Member Secretary Alauddin Mohammad.

Discussions focused on the current political climate in Bangladesh, the state of law and order, the roadmap for ongoing reforms, preparations for the upcoming national elections, and the implementation of the July Uprising’s manifesto.

The NCP delegation also highlighted the widespread public response to their July nationwide march, which saw participation across nearly all districts and drew support from people from diverse backgrounds.

The US side was represented by Chargé d’Affaires Tracy Ann Jacobson, Political and Economic Counsellor Eric Gillan, Political Officer James Stewart, and Political Specialist Firoz Ahmed.

The meeting underscored continued diplomatic engagement between emerging political forces in Bangladesh and international stakeholders during this pivotal transitional period.
