Cumilla-9 nomination row: Supporters of BNP’s Dola block road

Supporters of BNP leader Samira Azim Dola have blocked the road in Cumilla's Monoharganj after she was denied the party's nomination for Cumilla-9 constituency (Laksham-Monoharganj).

The protesters barricaded the Cumilla-Noakhali road in Khila area on Tuesday afternoon, November 4, demanding the party nominate for the parliamentary seat.

Dola is the daughter of late Colonel (retd) M Anwarul Azim, former lawmaker and former Cumilla divisional organising secretary of BNP's National Executive committee.

The BNP on Monday, November 3, announced the names of its candidates for 237 constituencies ahead of the upcoming 13th Jatiya Sangsad elections.

Abul Kalam, industry affairs secretary of National Executive Committee, and president of Laksham upazila unit, secured the party nomination for Cumilla-9 seat.
