Nation prays for Khaleda’s recovery
Special prayers for the recovery of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, who is undergoing treatment in the CCU of Evercare Hospital in Dhaka, were held across Bangladesh on Friday, December 5.
Following Jumma prayers, BNP organised prayer gatherings at mosques nationwide. Top party leaders, including Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, attended the event at a mosque in Noya Paltan in Dhaka.
Mirza Fakhrul said, "Begum Zia has devoted her life to democracy. Her illness began during her imprisonment, and inadequate treatment has left her critically unwell."
A Qatar-sent air ambulance is expected to arrive in Bangladesh on Saturday, and if doctors approve, she may be flown to London on Sunday for further treatment.
People across the country, including BNP members, affiliates, and the general public, also offered prayers at temples, churches, pagodas, and other places of worship, calling for her speedy recovery.
