Islami Andolan to unveil polls manifesto Wednesday

Islami Andolon Bangladesh will unveil its election manifesto on Wednesday, February 4, aiming to build a fair and prosperous Bangladesh guided by Shariah principles in all aspects of governance.

According to a party press release, the manifesto will emphasise the primacy of Shariah, commitment to the July Charter, youth employment creation, establishment of good governance, and ensuring citizens’ services and rights as key pledges in response to public expectations.

The manifesto will be formally presented at a press conference at the party’s central office in Dhaka’s Purana Paltan area at 3:00 pm on the day.

The decision was taken at the party’s regular meeting last Friday, presided over by Amir Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, Pir Saheb of Charmonai.

The manifesto gives special emphasis on the aspirations of the July mass uprising. 

Other key areas of the manifesto include financial discipline, attracting investment, ensuring energy security and foreign policy based on cooperation and mutual respect.

The manifesto will be presented by Ameer Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, Pir Saheb  Charmonai at the press conference. 

Party central leaders and distinguished figures from various professions are expected to attend, the release added.
