Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) ASM Nasir Uddin on Thursday, February 12, said people's trust in the Election Commission has returned.

"If trust in the Election Commission had not restored, people would not come to the polling stations. The voting atmosphere is like Eid," he said.

The CEC said this while speaking to reporters at Eskatan Garden High School centre in Dhaka-8 constituency.

No matter what the political parties say, they also keep trust in the Commission, he noted.

Mentioning that the elections are being held across the country fairly, CEC Nasir said, "We gave a commitment to hold a reliable election and hope it will be done successfully."

Stating that many share misinformation on social media platforms, the CEC urged mainstream media to verify them and uphold the truth.
