Bangladesh U-19 women collapse in 13-run defeat to Pakistan
Bangladesh U-19 women suffered a 13-run loss to Pakistan U-19 after a costly batting collapse in the opening T20 of their home series at the Cox’s Bazar Academy Ground on Wednesday.
Batting first, Pakistan managed a modest 88 before being bowled out in 19.4 overs.
Captain Eman Nasir anchored the innings with a 41-ball 30, while Arisha Ansari chipped in with 22 off 23. For Bangladesh, Jarin Tasmin Labannya stood out, returning impressive figures of 2 for 14 from her four overs.
Chasing 89, the hosts were rattled early, slipping to 22 for 4 and struggling to regain control.
Nirjana Mondal (20) and Sadia Akter (16) offered some resistance, but their efforts could not prevent further damage.
A late push from Bobi Khatun (13) briefly raised hopes, but Bangladesh ultimately folded for 75.
Pakistan’s Shahar Bano led the attack with three wickets, while Rozina Akram’s tight spell of 2 for 5 in four overs proved decisive as the visitors clinched a narrow but deserved win.
