Gold price hits record high of Tk 1.19 lakh per bhori

The Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association has decided to raise the price of gold by Tk 2,065 to Tk 1,19,638 per bhori following an increase in the price of pure gold in the local market.

It is the highest price of gold as of Thursday (April 18). Earlier, the highest price was Tk 1,17,573 per bhori.

BAJUS's standing committee on pricing and price monitoring decided this in a meeting today, a press release said.

Now, gold of 22-carat will cost Tk 1,19,638 per bhori (11.664 grams), 21-carat Tk 1,14,202, 18-carat Tk 97,884 respectively, but gold of traditional method was reduced to Tk 78,802.

The new prices will come into effect from this evening (April 18).
