Gold price hiked by Tk 1084 per bhori

The Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association has decided to raise the price of gold by Tk 1,084 per bhori following an increase in the price of pure gold in the local market.

Gold of 22-carat was hiked by Tk 1,084 to Tk 1,19,454 per bhori (11.664 grams), 21-carat by Tk 1,027 to Tk 1,14,109, 18-carat by Tk 887 to Tk 97,803, and gold of traditional method by Tk 735 to Tk 80,867 respectively.

BAJUS's standing committee on pricing and price monitoring decided this in a meeting on Sunday, a press release said.

The new prices will come into effect from Monday (May 20).

However, prices of gold rose again a day after it had increased by Tk 1,178 to Tk 1,18,460 per bhori.
