Gold prices hit record high, now bhori Tk 1.65 lakh

The Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association, BAJUS, has increased the prices of gold, with raising 22 carat gold by Tk 3,033 to Tk 1,65,209 per bhori (11.664 grams).

This is the highest rise in gold prices in the country’s history till Wednesday, April 16.

Besides, 21-carat gold was raised by Tk 2,892 to Tk 1,57,697 a bhori, 18-carat by Tk 2,484 to Tk 1,35,174, and gold of traditional method by Tk 2,122 to Tk 1,11,659 respectively.

The prices have been hiked following a rise in the price of pure gold in the local market, BAJUS said in a statement today.

The new prices will come into effect from Thursday, April 17.

Earlier on April 13, the price of 22-carat gold declined by Tk 1,038 to Tk 1,62,176 per bhori, while 21-carat gold decreased by Tk 991 to Tk 1,54,805 per bhori. 

Similarly, 18-carat gold came down by Tk 851 to Tk 1,32,690 per bhori, and traditional gold declined by Tk 734 to Tk 1,09,537 per bhori.
