Second highest $2.75b remittances come in April

The expatriate Bangladeshis sent around $2.75 billion (about BDT 33,574 crore) in remittances in April, the second highest in a single month in the country’s history.

The amount is about $70 crore more than that of April last year when the country saw $204.40 crore in remittances, a source in the Bangladesh Bank said on Sunday, May 4.

Bangladesh received around $2,454 crore in remittances in the first 10 months (July-April) of current 2024-25 fiscal year. In the same period of FY 2023-24, the Bangladeshi expatriates sent about $1,992 crore.

The overall remittance inflow grew by around 28.30 per cent this fiscal year.
