BAJUS announces jewelry shops closure indefinitely

The Bangladesh Jeweler's Association (BAJUS) has announced that all jewelry shops across the country will remain shut for an indefinite period.

The decision was taken protesting against the arrest of BAJUS vice president Md Ripnul Hasan and seeking his unconditional release, a press release said on Wednesday night, May 28.

The central leaders of BAJUS, acting president Gulzar Ahmed and general secretary Badal Chandra Roy, expressed concern and condemned over arresting Ripnul in a false and harassing case, said the release.

Earlier around 7:30pm today, BAJUS vice president Ripnul was apprehended from his business entity at Tatibazar in Dhaka.
