Gold prices hit Tk 2.02 lakh in 24 hours
The Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association (BAJUS) has raised the prices of gold again in a day, with 22 carat gold up by Tk 1,469 to Tk 2,02,195 per bhori (11.664 grams), the highest so far in the country’s history.
The prices have been hiked following a rise in the price of pure gold in the local market, BAJUS said in a statement on Tuesday, October 7.
The new prices will come into effect from Wednesday, October 8.
Besides, 21-carat gold was increased by Tk 1,399 to Tk 1,93,004 a bhori, 18-carat by Tk 1,202 to Tk 1,65,431, and gold of traditional method by Tk 1,027 to Tk 1,37,472 respectively.
Earlier on Monday, October 6, the price of 22-carat gold was hiked to a record high of Tk 2,00,726 per bhori.
