The first meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) under the newly formed government, led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, began on Monday.
Instead of the meeting’s regular venue at the NEC Conference Room at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, the meeting for the 2025-26 fiscal year is being held at the Cabinet Division conference room at the Bangladesh Secretariat at noon, with the prime minister in the chair.
Officials said this marks the inaugural ECNEC session since the new government assumed office. The meeting is expected to review and approve a number of development projects for the current fiscal year, reflecting the administration’s early policy priorities and investment focus.
