Price of 12kg LPG cylinder raised by Tk 38
The price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has increased again, with the Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) raising the retail cost of a 12kg cylinder by Tk 38 for the month of December.
The revised price — triggered by changes in the value-added tax (VAT) structure — takes effect from Tuesday evening, BERC announced.
With the latest adjustment, the retail price of a standard 12kg LPG cylinder now stands at Tk 1,253, up from Tk 1,215 set earlier in November.
Last month, BERC reduced the price by Tk 26 after global market shifts, while autogas (used in vehicles) prices also dropped by Tk 1.19 to Tk 55.58 per litre.
However, in the latest revision, autogas prices have climbed again to Tk 57.32 per litre.
BERC adjusts LPG prices monthly based on fluctuations in international market rates and tax changes.
