2 minor girls die in Badda wall collapse

Two children died after the wall of a building collapsed on them while playing in Dhaka's North Badda on Wednesday, March 11.

The deceased were identified as Ayesha Moni, 9, daughter of Iqbal from Yafedi area of Barura upazila in Cumilla, and Nusrat Akter, 6, daughter of Sharif Mia.

Both families were residing in a building on Purbachal Road in North Badda.

Iqbal, father of Ayesha Moni, said the accident occurred around 11:30 am while the children were playing beside a road.

Suddenly, the wall of a nearby house collapsed on them, leaving both seriously injured.

Locals rushed them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 12:45 pm, where on-duty doctors pronounced them dead.

Inspector Md Faruk, in charge of the police camp at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said the bodies have been kept at the hospital morgue.
