Fire at thermocol factory in Narayanganj

A fire broke out at a thermocol sheet manufacturing factory and warehouse in Narayanganj’s port area on Wednesday.

The blaze erupted around noon at Ayesha EPS Insulation Limited, owned by Morshed Khandakar, in the Lakkhan Khola area of Bandar upazila.

Four units of the Bandar Fire Service responded promptly and managed to bring the fire under control in about an hour.

Several goods stored inside the warehouse were completely damaged in the incident.

Bandar Fire Service Station Officer Sanjay Khan said preliminary findings suggest the fire may have been caused by an electrical short circuit. No casualties have been reported so far.

A detailed assessment of the losses and the exact cause of the fire will be determined after a full investigation, he added.
