Professor Mobasher Monem, Chairman of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC), has announced that the final results of the 44th BCS will be published by June 30.

He made the announcement during a press briefing at around 1:30 pm on Tuesday (April 8), following an event marking the founding anniversary of the BPSC.

The BPSC chairman said, “We are prioritising the 44th BCS to complete it quickly. The viva voce of the 44th BCS will be concluded by June 17, and the final results will be published by June 30.”

Meanwhile, a group of job seekers has demanded the postponement of the written examination for the 46th BCS. On Tuesday, they gathered in front of the BPSC office and staged a protest to press their demand.

Regarding this, the BPSC chairman stated, “Those who are preparing for the exams are already well-prepared. They have been studying for a long time. I don’t think they are sitting idle just to get a two-week extension. The syllabus is the same for both exams. They can sit for both using the same preparation. Therefore, the demand for postponement does not seem reasonable.”

Candidates have raised concerns that although the viva voce for the 44th BCS began on December 22, 2024, more than six months have passed and only half of the candidates have been interviewed so far. At the current pace, they fear it may take another year to complete the process.

They also pointed out that the written exams for the 46th BCS are approaching. Since many of the candidates appearing for the viva will also sit for the 46th BCS written exams, they questioned how they are supposed to prepare — for the viva or the written exams.
