Diploma engineers block railway in Gazipur

The diploma engineers have observed a railway blockade programme in Gazipur on Tuesday afternoon, September 16, against the ‘continued conspiracy’ on the deputy assistant engineer post.

The members of the Diploma Engineer’s Welfare Foundation (DEWF) barricaded the railway in Bhurulia rail gate area of Joydebpur around 4:00pm, suspending the train services from Dhaka to Mymensingh and northern district for half an hour.

The police, later, talked to the protesters and convinced them to leave the rail line around 5:00pm, said Najiruzzaman, in-charge at Joydebpur railway police outpost.

The students said they will continue their movement until their demands are met.

“Legal action must be taken against those who are continuously conspiring against the technical education and diploma engineers, and trying to destibilise the country with irrational demands,” said the protesters.
