Shibir for no change in RUCSU polls schedule
The Islami Chhatra Shibir is firmly opposing to bring any change to the schedule of the Rajshahi University Central Students' Union (RUCSU) elections.
Mostakur Rahman Zahid, the VP (vice president) candidate of the Shibir-backed panel 'Sammilito Shikkharti Jote' in the polls, informed about their panel’s stance at a press briefing on the campus on Monday afternoon, September 22.
"There will no longer be the vibe which has created centring the RUCSU election if it is not held in time. So, our bold statement is that we want the elections on September 25," Zahid said.
"I think the students will remain on the campus and the elections will be participatory if the administration boldly announce that the polls will take place on September 25," he added.

Earlier this morning, the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) demanded the RACSU elections after Durga Puja.
JCD panel's VP candidate Sheikh Nur Uddin Abir said, “We have noticed that the festive atmosphere and the movement of voters that existed 48 hours ago have now largely subsided.
“There are practically no voters, and most students have returned home. We want a fair election with maximum voter turnout.”
“If the Election Commission takes voter turnout into account, I would urge you to try to gauge the students’ pulse. I want the elections to be held after Durga Puja,” Abir added
According to the schedule, the RUCSU elections are set to take place on September 25.
