Two people were killed after the Israeli military launched a targeted strike on the headquarters of Iran’s state broadcaster, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), in Tehran on Monday.
Iran’s official news agency, IRNA, identified the victims as Nima Rajabpour, a news editor, and Masoumeh Azimi, an employee of the IRIB secretariat.
The strike came after a warning earlier in the day from Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, who described IRIB as the “mouthpiece of Iranian propaganda and incitement,” and said it was “on the verge of disappearing.”
