5 hospitals damaged by Israeli strikes: Iran’s Red Crescent

Five hospitals in Iran have been damaged as a result of Israeli strikes, the head of the country’s Red Crescent Society said in an interview with state-affiliated media.

It remains unclear exactly which facilities were affected and when the damage occurred.

Glass windows were shattered, and patients experienced breathing difficulties due to smoke from the blasts, said Pirhossein Kolivand, according to the state-affiliated IRNA news agency on Friday.

He added that the hospitals were not targeted directly, but the aid group plans to raise the incidents with international prosecutors, as attacking hospitals during conflict violates international humanitarian law.

“We have sent documentation of the Israeli regime’s attacks, which contravene international principles, to international institutions,” Kolivand told IRNA.

Meanwhile, Israel reported that one of its major hospitals, the Soroka Medical Center, suffered damage from an Iranian strike on Thursday. Iran denied Israeli accusations of intentionally targeting the facility.
