US, Iraq agree to intensify cooperation to prevent pro-Iran attacks

The United States and Iraq have agreed to strengthen cooperation to prevent attacks by pro-Iran groups and ensure Iraqi territory is not used to launch assaults on US interests, according to an official statement.
In a statement posted on X on Friday, the US Embassy in Baghdad said both sides will work more closely to counter potential threats and enhance security coordination.
“The Iraqi and US sides decided to intensify cooperation to prevent terrorist attacks and ensure that Iraqi territory is not used as a launching point for any aggression,” the statement said.
