Naogaon records country’s lowest temperature

The lowest temperature in the country was recorded at 8.6°C in Naogaon’s Badalgachi upazila on Sunday morning, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD). The Badalgachi Agricultural Weather Observatory Centre in the district reported the lowest temperature of the day at 9:00 am.

Although the sun appeared in the morning, its intensity was mild. Cold winds have led to stagnation in daily life, and low-income workers are facing severe hardships as they venture out in search of work despite the cold.

Hamidul Haque, a senior observer at the observatory centre, mentioned that after three days of dense fog, the sun has been visible for the past two days. However, the cold wind continues to blow, intensifying the chill. The lowest temperature of 8.6°C was recorded in the morning, with 100% humidity in the air. The cold wave is expected to persist.
