6 held over shooting, robbing gold trader in Banasree
The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested six people over the looting of around 160 bhori gold after shooting a trader in the capital's Banasree.
The detectives also recovered looted gold and illegal arms from their possession, DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md Sajjat Ali said on Saturday morning, March 8.
More details will be provided in a press conference at DMP media centre this afternoon, he said.
On February 23, a group of armed robbers shot gold trader Anwar Hossain and robbed 160 bhori gold and Tk 1 lakh at Block-D in Banasree around 10:30pm.
