China to finance 1000-bed hospital in Bangladesh

China will finance building a 1000-bed hospital in Rangpur as a gift for Bangladesh to celebrate the 50 years of bilateral relations of both countries.

Nurjahan Begum, adviser to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, shared this information in a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka on Sunday, April 13.

She said China is also providing a rehabilitation centre with robotic physiotherapy support facilities which will be constructed at Bangladesh Medical University where those were injured during the July uprising can receive treatment.

Although it would now be used for July injured, later, others can take treatment there, if necessary, she added.
