Two youths hacked, lynched to death in Darussalam

Two unidentified youths were brutally hacked and beaten to death in the capital’s Darussalam area, police confirmed on Saturday (May 31). 

The bodies were discovered lying on the roadside, believed to have been dumped there after the attack.

Darussalam Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rakibul Hasan said the victims bore marks of severe violence. 

“After being informed, we rushed to the scene and recovered the bodies. Their identities are still unknown,” he said.

Eyewitnesses told police the incident occurred in the early morning. 

Law enforcement officials are currently working to identify both the victims and the attackers.

“The bodies have been sent to Suhrawardy Hospital for post-mortem examination,” OC Rakibul added.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Darussalam Zone, Salek Mohammad Zakaria, said: “We have yet to confirm the identities of the deceased. Further details will be shared once we receive more information.”
