ACC sues 9 including former Nagad MD Mishuk

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against nine people, including Tanvir Ahmed Mishuk, former managing director of mobile financial service Nagad, on charge of embezzling around Tk 645 crore.

ACC deputy director Md Aktarul Islam confirmed the matter on Wednesday, June 4.

Eight other accused are Nagad’s executive director Md Shafayet Alam, AMD and nominee director Mohammad Aminul Haque, senior manager Maruful Islam Jhalak, chief technology officer Md Abu Rayhan, chief finance officer Afjal Ahmed, head of finance Md Rakibul Islam, chief commercial officer Shihab Uddin Chowdhury and head of business technology Golam Mortuza Chowdhury.

The case statement said the accused, in collusion with each other, issued Tk 645.47 crore more as e-Money against the physical money deposited in Trust Cum Settlement Account from March 1, 2021, to November 17, 2024, and embezzled it through non-approved 41 distributors with false description and report and.
