Govt issues gazette merging two Home Ministry divisions

The government on Wednesday issued a gazette merging the Public Security Division and the Security Services Division into a single unit under the Home Ministry.
The gazette, issued by the Cabinet Division under the Rules of Business, 1996 (rule 3, sub-rule i), will come into immediate effect, according to the document signed by Cabinet Secretary Dr. Sheikh Abdur Rashid.
From now on, all activities of the previously separate divisions will be conducted under the unified Home Ministry.
The Home Ministry had been divided into two separate divisions on January 19, 2017.
