5 more die from dengue, 841 hospitalised in 24 hrs

Five more deaths were reported from dengue in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to 238 this year.

Of the new deaths, four were reported in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and one was recorded in Mymensingh division.

During the period, 841 more patients were hospitalised with the viral fever, raising the total cases to 56,257 to date this year, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a statement today (October 14).

Of the new cases, 125 were recorded in Barishal division (Out of CC), 106 in Chattogram division (Out of CC), 214 in Dhaka division (Out of CC), 173 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), and 128 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

Besides, 26 new cases were recorded in Khulna division (Out of CC), 19 in Mymensingh division (Out of CC), 47 in Rangpur division (Out of CC), and three in Sylhet division (Out of CC).
