The Rapid Action Battalion and the police have launched combing operations to arrest those involved in the shooting of Sharif Osman Hadi, an independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency and spokesperson of Inquilab Moncho.

"All teams of RAB, including RAB-3 and headquarters' intelligence unit, were trying their best to arrest two suspects soon after the shooting," MZM Intekhab Chowdhury, media wing director of RAB, told Jago News on Friday night, December 12.

"Maybe I can share good news in this regard within tonight," he said.

The police were conducting raids to apprehend the shooters of Osman Hadi, said Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Sheikh Md Sajjat Ali.

“Wherever the terrorists are hiding, they will be caught and brought to justice,” he said.

Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inquilab Moncho, was shot by unidentified assailants in the capital's Bijaynagar area this afternoon while travelling by rickshaw after Jumma prayers.

After the incident, he was rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Following his surgery at DMCH, he was shifted to Evercare Hospital for advanced treatment.
