Five people, including three women and a child, were killed as a train smashed into a bus in Tangail's Kalihati on Friday night, March 27.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Gharinda Railway Police outpost's sub-inspector Mijan said the "Sirajganj Express" train hit the bus while crossing the rail track in Dhalatenger area, leaving five individuals dead on the spot.
Among the dead, three were women, one was a man, and the other was a child, he said, adding that more details would be provided later.
