3 more children die with measles symptoms in Rajshahi

Three more children have died with measles symptoms in Rajshahi during the past 24 hours as the number of suspected cases continues to rise in the district.

According to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, 23 new suspected measles patients were admitted in the past 24 hours, while 10 patients recovered and were discharged. Currently, 133 suspected patients are receiving treatment at the hospital.

Hospital records show that a total of 452 suspected measles cases have been admitted so far, with 46 deaths recorded to date.

Confirming the matter, Hospital spokesperson Dr Shankar K. Biswas said that doctors and healthcare workers are working tirelessly to manage the situation.

Health officials have urged parents to ensure timely vaccination of children and maintain proper hygiene, warning that the outbreak could worsen if preventive measures are not followed.
