Hamza Choudhury arrives in Bangladesh
Bangladeshi-origin English Premier League footballer Hamza Choudhury, who is included in the 30-member preliminary squad for the AFC Asian Cup 2025 qualifiers, arrived in Bangladesh on Monday.
Hamza, accompanied by his family, landed at Sylhet Osmani International Airport from London on a Bangladesh Biman flight at 11:50 am. He was received at the airport by several officials from the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF).
From there, he is expected to travel to his ancestral home in Snanghat, Bahubal Upazila, Habiganj on the same day. He will then head to Dhaka on Tuesday and will practice with the team for one day.
The Bangladesh football team will return to the country on Tuesday after completing their conditioning camp in Saudi Arabia. On the same day, Hamza Choudhury will arrive in Dhaka at 9:00 pm. The following morning, he will travel with the team to Shillong, India.
On March 25, Bangladesh will play against India in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong, Meghalaya, India. If all goes as planned, this match will fulfill Hamza Choudhury’s dream of playing for the red-and-green jersey.
