Govt cuts broadband internet prices by Tk 100

The government has reduced broadband internet prices at the consumer level by 20 per cent.

The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) on Thursday, May 22, fixed a single tariff for all government and private internet service providers (ISPs).

As per the new tariff, a 5 Mbps broadband connection will now cost Tk 400, which was previously Tk 500. The 10 Mbps package has been decreased to Tk 700 from Tk 800, while price of 20 Mbps is Tk 1,100 instead of Tk 1,200.

The new prices will come into force from July 1.
