Microsoft unveils Nokia feature phone

Microsoft unveiled what could be one of its last Nokia mobile phones, as it prepares to complete the sale of its feature phone business later this year.
On Tuesday, the tech giant announced the Nokia 216, which will be available in India. The device can run two SIM cards, and includes two cameras with LED flash, an FM radio and Bluetooth support for owners wanting to use Bluetooth headsets.
The phone will launch on October 24.
The device is likely the last it will release under the Nokia brand. In May, the company announced it would sell its feature phone business to a subsidiary of Taiwanese firm Foxconn.
The deal will close by the second half of this year.
The transaction would also allow Nokia - which sold its phone business to Microsoft in 2014 for more than $7 billion - to sell mobile phones again.
Meanwhile, Microsoft would finally escape the disastrous Nokia deal, seen as a chance to compete with Apple and Google in the smartphone market with its line of Lumia devices.
Microsoft took an impairment charge of $7.6 billion due the Nokia deal, and laid off thousands of employees.
