SUCSU election deferred, voting on Jan 20

The Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) administration has deferred the central students' union (SUCSU) and hall union elections, initially scheduled for December 17.

Now the voting will take place on January 20, a notice signed by Registrar Syed Salim Mohammad Abdul Quadir stated on Sunday afternoon, November 23.

Earlier, a meeting was held between the university administration and student representatives from 11:00 am to 2:45 pm in the conference room of Administration Building-1 about the date fixation of the polls.

After the meeting, it was unanimously decided to hold the polls on January 20.

The Election Commission will announce a reschedule for the elections on Monday evening, November 24, said the Commission's spokesperson, prof Dr Nazrul Islam.
