Apu Biswas granted bail in attempted murder case

A Dhaka court on Sunday, July 13, granted bail to Dhallywood actress Apu Biswas in an attempted murder case filed with Vatara police station.

Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman passed the order on bond of Tk 10,000.

Earlier on June 2, the High Court (HC) granted her the anticipatory bail for six weeks in the case.

According to the prosecution, one Enamul Haque was injured in front of Vatara police station during the July Mass Uprising on July 19 last year.

Later, Enamul filed a case against 283 people, including former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, and several film and television artistes, including Apu Biswas, with Vatara Police Station in March, 2025.

Police arrested actress Nusrat Faria on May 18. Later, she secured bail from the court on May 20.
