Housewife burnt to death in Jhenaidah

A housewife was burnt to death as she trying to rescue cows from the cowshed of her house at Hatubhanga village under Sailkupa of Jhenaidah district on Friday morning.

The deceased was identified as Rina Rani Mandal, 32, wife of Pranabandhu Mandal of the village.

Three cows were also burnt during the incident.

Locals and fire service officials said that a fire broke out at the cowshed of Rina’s house while she rushed there and sustained severe burn injuries when she tried to save the cows.

Later locals rescued and rushed her to Jhenaidah General Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

Sailkupa police station officer-in-charge Tariqul Islam confirmed the incident.
