Harun elected BPJA president, Shawkat gen secy

Harun Jamil has been elected the new president of Bangladesh Parliament Journalists Association, BPJA, while Shawkat Ali Khan Litho has become general secretary uncontested.

Harun bagged 62 votes to defeat his nearest rival candidate Nikhil Bhadra who got 50 votes.

The election took place during the annual general meeting of the association at the Parliament LD Hall on Saturday, January 11.

Faiz Ullah Bhuiyan has been elected vice president, Mijanur Rahman joint secretary, Md Shahjahan Molla finance secretary, and Najmul Islam Tanim Ahmed office secretary. They all were elected unopposed.

Besides, Mashiur Rahman, Monirul Islam, Rafiqul Islam Sabuj, Jahangir Kiran, and Habibur Rahman Panchayet have been elected executive members.
