DMP bans rallies near CA’s residence, Secretariat, Shahbagh

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on meetings, gatherings, processions, and rallies near the Bangladesh Secretariat, the official residence of the Chief Adviser, Jamuna, and surrounding areas.
The announcement was made in a public notice signed by DMP’s Sheikh Md Saijjat Ali on Thursday morning.
The notice, issued under the powers of Section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance No. III/76), prohibits any such activities in and around the Bangladesh Secretariat, the Chief Adviser’s residence, and nearby areas, including the Hotel InterContinental intersection, Shahbagh intersection, Kakrail intersection, and Mintu Road, from Thursday until further notice, in the interest of maintaining public order.
