1 killed in clash between two groups in Bhairab

A man was killed in a clash between two groups in Bhairab, Kishoreganj, around 11:00 am on Friday, April 18.
The deceased, Mizan Miah, was the son of Rabiullah Miah from Sulemanpur village. He worked as a decoration worker by profession.
According to local sources, the clash occurred between two families in Moutupir village. The incident reportedly stemmed from an argument that broke out on Wednesday night between Badsha Miah, leader of the Badhur group from Bhabanipur village, and Mizan Miah of the Moydur Munshi group from Sulemanpur.
A mediation meeting was arranged to resolve the dispute. However, during the meeting, supporters of Badsha Miah allegedly attacked Mizan Miah. This led to a violent confrontation between the two groups.
Mizan, who was critically injured in the attack, was rushed to the Bhairab Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared him dead.
Dr Mehedi Hasan, a physician at the health complex, confirmed that Mizan was brought to the hospital with serious injuries and was declared dead upon arrival.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhairab Police Station, Khondkar Fuad Ruhani, confirmed that the conflict in Moutupir village resulted in the death of a man from Sulemanpur village. He added that members of the joint forces promptly arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control.
