DMP bans gatherings in CJ's residence, Judges Complex

Amid severe traffic congestion and immense sufferings to people due to protests blocking roads in Dhaka for last two days, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has newly imposed a ban on all kinds of meeting, rally, and procession in several places, including the residence of Chief Justice and Judges Complex, until further notice.

DMP announced the ban in a public notice on Thursday, May 15.

“For maintaining public order, any kinds of meeting, rally and procession have been banned in front of Chief Justice’s residence, Judges Complex, main gate of Bangladesh Supreme Court, Jam-e-Mosque gate, main gates of International Crimes Tribunal 1 and 2 and Bangladesh Institute of Judicial Administration (BIJA) until further notice,” reads the public notice.  

Earlier on May 10, DMP imposed a ban on all kinds of meeting, rally, and procession near the official residence of Chief Adviser, Jamuna, Bangladesh Secretariat and in adjacent areas until further notice.
