Homesteads flooded, cattle washed away in Bhola

More than 100 homesteads in Dalchar union under Charfassion upazila of Bhola have been flooded as the water level of Meghna River rose by 100 cm due to the influence of depression in the district. 

Water entered the locality this afternoon, submerging more than 200 homesteads and leaving over 200 people marooned, said local residents Md Yusuf Faraji and md Farhad Hossain.

The flood also washed away many cattle in the union.

Asfauddoula, executive engineers of Water Development Board Division-2, said the water level of Meghna River increased by 100 cm this afternoon under the influence of depression and river water entered the locality as there is no embankment at Dalchar.
