Jet crash: Another student dies at burn institute

A student injured in the jet crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka, has died.

Sahil Farabi Ayan, 14, a seventh-grade student of the English version section at Milestone, passed away in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery around 1:45 am on Monday.

Dr Shawon Bin Rahman, resident surgeon at the institute, said, “Sahil, who had been on life support, died around 1:45 am. He had suffered burns on 40 percent of his body and was being treated in the ICU.”

With his death, the toll at the burn institute from the incident has risen to 18. Additionally, one person has died at the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
